Each year the University of Minnesota Law School welcomes the entire community of alumni for a weekend of events and activities both at the Law School and around the Twin Cities, while hosting special reunion events for classes celebrating milestone anniversaries. See below for a full schedule of events.

Kick off Spring Alumni Weekend by joining alumni and current students for an informal opportunity to discuss diverse careers in markets across the country. Alumni will be loosely grouped together by career type, allowing students to easily find alumni in the career they wish to learn more about. This is a great opportunity to pass on your knowledge and experience to the next generation of University of Minnesota lawyers. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres and beverages will be provided by the Office of Advancement.
5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Law School Community Cocktail Reception (free)

The festivities continue as the entire Law School community joins together to mix and mingle. Dean Wippman will be on hand and will share the latest updates on your alma mater and its direction for the future. This event is a great opportunity to network with fellow alumni and to socialize with current students, faculty and staff. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres and an open bar will be provided by the Office of Advancement.
6:00 p.m. Class of 1965's 50th Reunion Reception & Dinner ($50 per person)
The Class of 1965 will be celebrating the Golden Anniversary of their graduation from Law School with a reception and dinner at the Minneapolis Club. More information is available on the Class of 1965's reunion page.

After the cocktail reception, head a short way down Washington Avenue to enjoy a show at one of the country's finest theaters. Special group discounted rates have been secured for Law School alumni (regular priced tickets for this show are $35). Please note that tickets are limited, and the special discounted price is available only through the Law School's Spring Alumni Weekend website. Information about the play is online here. Successful Business Development for Women ($15 per person)

Female graduates and current law students are invited to a special networking breakfast and informative CLE program on business development. Time will be allotted at the beginning and the end of the program for attendees to mingle and make connections. The CLE program will run from 9:00am until 10:00am, and will feature a panel of alumnae from a variety of backgrounds - including those in private practice as well as in-house. The panelists include Jan Conlin ('88), Cathy Gorlin ('78), Jeannine Lee ('81), Judith L. Oakes ('69), Kate Sherburne ('03), and Heidi M. Wilson ('76). They will speak candidly about their business development successes as well as the barriers and challenges they face in bringing in new business to their legal practices. Claudia Melo, Associate Director of the Law School's Career Center, will moderate the discussion and share information about additional resources available to women looking to expand their capacities in this arena. A full, hot breakfast will be served.
10:30 a.m – 11:30 a.m. CLE: Magna Carta at 800 Years: History & Legacy in Context (free)

Ryan Greenwood, Curator of Rare Books and Special Collections, will give a special CLE presentation in honor of the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta. Drawing upon the strengths of the Law School's Riesenfeld Rare Books Research Center's rich collection, which includes fourteen Magna Cartas printed before 1600, he will discuss the history and influence of "The Great Charter", one of the great documents and symbols of individual rights and the rule of law in the world.

Following the CLE program, attendees will have the opportunity to visit and view the Riesenfeld Center's Magna Carta exhibit on their own. In addition, Ryan Greenwood will lead two special tours of the Center's impressive collections of rare books. Space on these tours is limited, and will be on a first come, first served basis, with sign-up sheets available in Mondale Hall earlier in the morning on April 25th.
12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Alumni & Faculty Luncheon: High Impact Legal Education
2:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Alumni & Faculty Dessert Reception

Weisman Art Museum, 333 E. River Parkway
(across the Washington Avenue bridge from the Law School)
Faculty and alumni of all class years are invited to attend a luncheon highlighting the Law School’s impact on the world and our communities through ground-breaking work in public interest law. Details about a the launch of a new public interest initiative and recent clinical program successes will be shared, including updates on several high impact clinic cases heard recently at the Federal level, including the United States Supreme Court and the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals. Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m., and the program will start at 1:15 p.m. and will feature remarks by Dean David Wippman and several esteemed faculty members. A dessert reception will follow to allow time for alumni to reconnect with favorite faculty and to talk more casually about the developments presented.
A Complimentary shuttle will run between the Law School and the Weisman Art Museum before and after the luncheon, departing Mondale hall at 12:00, 12:15, and 12:30 p.m. with return trips departing the Weisman at 2:00, 2:15 , 2:30, and 2:45 p.m.
